Public Safety is responsible for responding to all emergencies, suspicious activities, crimes, and safety concerns. Our goal is to work in partnership with students, faculty and staff to provide a safe, enjoyable, and fulfilling university experience. Campus safety is of paramount importance, but security depends on everyone knowing what to do in case of an emergency. Emergency Response & Preparedness

The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) shares safety procedures and runs regular drills with local agencies. Rutgers University Emergency Services (RUES) provides fire, medical, and emergency support across campuses.

Modern Security & Identity Solutions

Leveraging advanced security technology to protect its campuses. IAM oversees services such as Rutgers ID cards, access control systems, and integrated security solutions. These technologies support a secure campus experience while enabling efficient, campus-wide access for the university community.
