University Facilities is responsible for the repair, maintenance, replacement, renovations and construction, of all Rutgers University buildings, grounds and infrastructure. Our area of operation encompasses more than 1,009 buildings representing 29 million square feet across the state of New Jersey—from farm structures to high-tech research, medical and clinical facilities. We are committed to serving the university community by providing the appropriate environments for living, learning, teaching and working, all in support of the university’s mission and goals.

Ensuring all Rutgers facilities run smoothly. With a team of 1,200+ staff, they handle everything from janitorial services to building maintenance, keeping campuses clean and functional.

Groundskeeping and Outdoor Maintenance

Making sure all outdoor spaces at Rutgers are properly maintained. This includes regular landscaping, upkeep of athletic fields, and care for gardens and green areas.

Construction and Renovation for Campus Development

Oversees new construction projects and renovations, making sure that Rutgers’ facilities continue to evolve and expand. Managing everything from initial planning and budgeting to the selection of contractors and final occupancy.
