Our Camden RUPD officers started the year right with a January 15 visit to Camden’s Ronald McDonald House.
Ronald McDonald Houses all around the country provide a home away from home for families whose children are hospitalized or in treatment.
The first New Jersey Ronald McDonald House opened in Camden in 1983 in a 10-bedroom Victorian rowhouse behind Cooper University Healthcare. In 1998, a larger facility was built in Camden featuring 25 bedroom suites, a family cinema, a parents’ gym with an adjacent kid zone, a marketplace, and a handicap-accessible playground. It is one of 390 Ronald McDonald House programs around the world.
During their visit, RUPD-Camden Officers had the amazing opportunity to serve breakfast. Officers Mark Slifko and Dalvyn Rosado led the kitchen crew, while the rest of the team served up smiles and made new friends. “Sharing a meal with these incredible families was truly inspiring,” said Acting Chief Matthew Gulsby.
