The Rutgers Police Department retains the original documents generated by the New Brunswick Division of the Police Department. Copies of motor vehicle accident reports, criminal and non-criminal investigation reports and/or other incidents reported to the Police Department may be obtained through the Records Bureau between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). Rutgers University is governed by the provisions of the Open Public Records Act (OPRA) and will disseminate reports and other relevant statistics in accordance with these guidelines.

Crash/accident reports can now be obtained online by visiting BuyCrash® | Home (lexisnexisrisk.com). Please keep in mind that reports are typically ready for release 5-7 days after the incident. You will be required to attach a photo ID when completing the form. Please be advised, reports cannot be released without proper identification.
