Rutgers University Emergency Services (RUES) is comprised of career, student and per-diem staff. RUES hires Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and Emergency Service Officer (ESO) on an as needed basis throughout the year. For Part-time (Non-Rutgers Student) employment opportunities, please visit the University Human Resources (UHR) website and search for “EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN”.  Applications for Part-time (Non-Rutgers Student) EMT positions must be submitted through the UHR employment system.
Current Rutgers Students can apply directly to the department by submitting the below information:

  • Completed employment application
  • Valid driver's abstract (copy of valid driver's license must be brought to the interview)
  • Current EMT Card (provisional cards are not acceptable)
  • Current CPR Card
  • 3 letters of reference from non-family members
  • Current resume
  • Copies of ICS 100, 200, and NIMS 700 certifications
