University Public Safety responds to several types of non-emergency calls. The most common requests for service are motor vehicle lockouts and jumpstarts.

Vehicle Jumpstarts

Public Safety will assist students, visitors, and faculty/staff with vehicle jumpstarts at Rutgers University as well as the surrounding areas.

To initiate a request, call the Rutgers University 911 Communications Center at (732) 932-7211.

Drivers should raise the hood of their vehicle to help responding personnel identify the vehicle. In order to have your vehicle jump started, a Liability Release Form must be completed and signed by both the driver of the vehicle and the officer providing assistance.
