The Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) Newark Campus has worked tirelessly over the years to enhance its relationship with Student Affairs. The department was recently presented with the Campus Partner award which honors staff, faculty, or members of the university community for their outstanding collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs.
Awardees exemplify the true spirit of the Scarlet Raiders and Student Affairs’ values. According to Student Affairs, honorees are the heart of Rutgers University—Newark and a model of institutional pride.
“Every member of RUPD Newark is responsible for this reward,” said Carmelo Huertas, Director of Public Safety, IPO-Rutgers Police—Newark. “They all go out of their way to build trust and cooperate with Student Affairs, and the entire Rutgers Community. This belongs to each and every member of the patrol.”
“Chief Huertas was critical to receiving this award,” added Kenneth Cop, Vice President, University Public Safety and Chief of University Police. “He and the entire RUPD Newark have built a great ongoing relationship of collaboration and information sharing with the whole university.”
Congratulations RUPD—Newark.
