Visitors to the University can park in Lot 48 between the hours of 6:00am-2:00am on the Busch Campus across from the Visitors Center at no cost. Visitors are defined by the University as persons not affiliated with Rutgers University. Use of this lot by any current student will result in one or more citations. If a visitor would like to park in other areas of the University they must purchase a permission from the Department of Transportation Services using the link below, for the cost of $5.00 a day, plus sales tax.

Visitors may park in the Yellow or Green Lot on the Livingston Campus during the weekends between Friday 5:00pm till Monday morning at 6:00am without a permission. 

*Game day parking will apply during Football, Men’s and Women’s Basketball games.

Visitor Permission

A Visitor Permission is required for anyone visiting that needs to park in university parking areas for ANY length of time.

Pay for your daily or hourly permit via the Passport Parking app (at www.passportparking.com, or the Apple/Google Play Store).

  • Zone 9647 is valid at all New Brunswick student lots: $5 Visitor Parking, Daily 6am-2am
  • Zone 9645 is valid at the Livingston deck in New Brunswick: $3 per hour 24/7
  • Zone 9648 is valid at Deck 3 and Eagle East Lot 509A: $5 Daily Visitor Parking 
  • Zone 9649 is valid at all Camden student lots: $5 Visitor Parking, Daily 6am-2am

Rutgers New Brunswick Departmental One-Day Visitor

Issued to University departments to provide parking to visitors on a one day basis only.  One day permissions  on College Ave campus are restricted to Lot 26,30 and College Ave Deck.

  • Parking is allowed with a permission in any common faculty/staff lot. The Department will assign permission to your license plate for one day of parking expiring at midnight. You will need to provide your name, email address and vehicle license plate and state of registration.
  • This permission is for use by visitors only (persons not affiliated with Rutgers University). 
  • Use of this permission by students, faculty or staff will result in a $100.00 citation for fraudulent use of permission.

Requests sent by fax will no longer be accepted.

RBHS Departmental One day Visitor Permission 

Issued to RBHS departments to provide parking to visitors on a one day basis only.  Parking is allowed with a permission in any common faculty/staff lot. The Department will assign permission to your license plate for one day of parking expiring at midnight. You will need to provide your name, email address and vehicle license plate and state of registration.

  • One day permissions  on College Ave campus are restricted to Lot 26,30 and College Ave Deck.
     
  • Effective immediately, permission will no longer be for as a journal entry charging your department's GL number.  The permission must now be paid for with an IPO.   Anyone who has access to Marketplace can create an IPO.  Select Internal Order form, and #3623 for RBHS One Day Parking Permissions.  Answer the questions and the requestor enters your GL or Project UDO string.  The process automatically creates a PO and your department's account is automatically charged.  A copy of the IPO must be submitted with your completed RBHS One Day Parking permission request form in order to process the permission request.
     
  • Use of this permission by students, faculty or staff will result in a $100.00 citation for fraudulent use of permission

Rutgers Newark Departmental One-Day Visitor

Issued to University departments to provide parking to visitors on a one day basis only.  Parking is allowed with a One Day Visitor ePermit in Deck 3 and Eagle East lot 509A only for the Newark campus. Name, vehicle information and email of visitor must be indicated on the registration for One Day Visitor ePermit. One Day Visitor ePermit must have an expiration date (set day after scheduled visit). This permission is for use by visitors only (persons not affiliated with Rutgers University). Departments can purchase a One Day Visitor ePermit for $5.00 each, thru Cornerstone item code #920 and 5-digit GL String #74105.


  • Purchase Order must be submitted  to issue One Day Visitor ePermit to the Department account.
  • Use of this permission by students, faculty or staff will result in a $100.00 citation for fraudulent use of permission.
Rutgers Camden Departmental One day Visitor

Issued to University departments to provide parking to visitors on a one day basis only. Camden One day permits can park at: Lot C1, C2, C3, C14, City lot 15 or City Lot 16.

Parking is allowed with a permission in any common faculty/staff lot. The Department will assign permission to your license plate for one day of parking expiring at midnight. You will need to provide your name, email address and vehicle license plate and state of registration. This permission is for use by visitors only (persons not affiliated with Rutgers University).  Use of this permission by students, faculty or staff will result in a $100.00 citation for fraudulent use of permission.

Non-Affiliate-Vendor Permission

Non-Affiliate-Vendor permits are issued to service providers or vendors authorized to do business with the University such as:

  • Student Center vendors
  • Rutgers Bookstore employees
  • RU Federal Credit Union
  • Campus Ministries verified by the Vice President of Student Affairs
  • Consultants, Service providers or other Professional services (e.g. research, administration or support services)
  • Interns or Volunteers
  • ROTC staff members

Proof of eligibility to purchase the Non-affiliate-Vendor permission such as letter from hiring department or purchase order agreement with the University must be presented for verification. Metered Spaces (Very Limited)

A limited number of City metered spaces are provided for the convenience of visitors to the university and in certain designated areas for short-term parking intended for official university business. 

Daily Permits

Employees may purchase up to 10 daily parking passes per year at the rates and locations established for visitors by the Rutgers Department of Transportation.
