A parking permit is required to park in any Rutgers owned or leased Parking lot or deck.

Department Administrators may request New Employee parking by visiting dotshelp.rutgers.edu. This information will include the employee's name, start date, employment type, home address, vehicle license plate number, state, make, model and color.

Aligned Employees: please refer to your bargaining unit’s agreement.

Parking Permit Registration

Online registrations require:

  • Net ID - (It may take two business for NetID to register with our system)
  • Your vehicle license plate number, state, make, model and color
  • A credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover), or pre-tax payroll deduction to purchase a permit (payments made through payroll will be deducted over 6 pay cycles).

Faculty/Staff Permit Registration


Additional Vehicles:

After the initial registration, you must register additional vehicles by logging into My Rutgers parking account. If you have a temporary plate, please register the vehicle with the temporary plate number, and when the permanent plates have been installed on the vehicle update the information at My Rutgers parking account. Users have the ability to link and unlink the temporary plate and add the new plate on My Rutgers parking account.

Key Card

Key cards are necessary to gain access to common gated and assigned gated lots. If you have a valid faculty/staff parking permit, you may purchase a common gated keycard for $15.00. If you wish to purchase a card for an assigned lot, you must first be assigned to that lot by the appropriate Lot Coordinator. Staff assigned to the Easton Avenue Deck are eligible to purchase a $15.00 keycard for that deck. Please complete a Key Card Request Form.

The card(s) will be returned through campus mail. Key card fees can be paid online via credit card or e-check.

Loading/Unloading Parking Privileges
  • Rutgers Departments may request Loading/Unloading parking privileges for their staff.
  • Individuals must have a valid Rutgers faculty/staff parking permit.
  • These privileges must be renewed each year.
  • Allows those with a current Rutgers faculty/staff parking permit temporary parking in loading/unloading zones while conducting departmental business. This is a temporary parking place while one loads/unloads equipment, drops off monies or time sensitive documents.
  • Leave blinkers on while loading and unloading.
  • Only for conducting departmental business and does not provide daily workplace parking.
  • Is not valid for general parking in commuter only lots, resident only lots, assigned lots or stalls, reserved lots or stalls, or parking meters.
  • Departments requesting loading/unloading should send a list of employee names by visiting dotshelp.rutgers.edu
Faculty/Staff Spouse Housing Permits

All resident faculty/staff living in University housing must purchase a Rutgers parking permit. Any additional vehicle being used by a faculty/staff member’s spouse must also be registered to park on Rutgers property. The permit for the second vehicle is an additional fee of $100.00.

Temporary Faculty/Staff parking permits

Costs:

  • Jan. 1 - May 31 = $60.00 (or June through August 31 or Sept 1 through Dec 31)
  • Jan. 1 - Aug. 31 = $80.00 (or June through Dec 31)
  • Jan. 1 - Dec. 31 = $100.00
Family Housing Parking Permit - Student Spouses
  • All resident students, including TA/GA’s, living in family housing must purchase a Rutgers parking permit for the academic year.
     
  • Any additional vehicle being used by a student’s spouse must also be registered in order to park on Rutgers property.
     
  • This second vehicle can be registered for an additional fee of $100.00.
     
  • Family Housing Parking Permits are valid for the same time period as the Rutgers Parking Permit, and both parking permits must be renewed on an academic year basis.
     
  • These permits can be purchased online, once the TA/GA or graduate student living in housing has purchased their regular Rutgers parking permit.
Daily Permits

Employees may purchase up to 10 daily parking passes per year at the rates and locations established for visitors by the Rutgers Department of Transportation.

Visitor Parking uses the Passport App. (at www.passportparking.com, or the Apple/Google Play Store).

  • Zone 9647 is valid at all New Brunswick student lots: $5 Visitor Parking, Daily 6am-2am
  • Zone 9645 is valid at the Livingston deck in New Brunswick: $3 per hour 24/7
  • Zone 9648 is valid at Deck 3 and Eagle East Lot 509A: $12 Daily Visitor Parking
  • Zone 9649 is valid at all Camden student lots: $5 Visitor Parking, Daily 6am-2am

RBHS Faculty/Staff Parking Permits

A virtual parking permit is required to park in any university parking area.
Virtual parking permits are automatically linked to your vehicle’s license plate allowing for immediate access to parking at Rutgers.

  • You can pick up the access card for the Norfolk Deck P1, at the lobby of the P2 garage located at 160 Bergen St.
  • P2 garage: You will need to show proof of purchase. The office is open Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.
RBHS Faculty/Staff Parking Permits Process

You will need:

  • Pay by payroll deduction (payments made through payroll deduction will be deducted bi-weekly)

Permit fees:

  • General parking - .005 of your salary/year
  • Guaranteed parking - $800/year
  • Reserved parking - $1,600/year
(Guaranteed and reserve parking is limited, you can add your name to the waitlist and will be contacted should a space become available)
