The Office of Space Management is responsible for documentation and data associated with 30 million gross square feet of owned and leased space on and off Rutgers University campuses and ensures that university space allocations and utilization remain consistent with the university's academic, research, and clinical missions.

Space Management Database

Archibus serves as the university's official space management database and can be accessed at my.rutgers.edu in the My Apps tab. If you need access to the system, please email chris.pye@rutgers.edu.

CAD and Drawing Archives

To obtain copies of university building drawings (CAD and scanned versions), please contact Dave Kihm at dave.kihm@rutgers.edu. Note that building information may be confidential or sensitive and distribution of plans may be limited.

Data Updates

The university space information is used in RCM calculations for the Debt Service, Utilities, Operations and Maintenance, and a portion of the Public Safety metrics. Units are required to review their space annually to ensure accuracy in the information. If you need to make an update in the system (changes in ownership, room types, or renovations), please email chris.pye@rutgers.edu.

Requests for Space

All requests for space should be initiated and forwarded by the dean of a school or director of a center to their respective chancellor space representative for approval. Central administration requests should be made to the respective vice president.
