RU Newark Students (Commuter and Residents):

The City of Newark is conducting a pedestrian safety improvement project that will impact street access and parking garages in and around campus. The project aims to improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and micromobility users while increasing accessibility for people with disabilities. 

Due to overnight construction, all vehicles must exit Decks 2 and 3 by 10:30 PM on Monday, 10/26 and 10:30 PM Tuesday, 10/27. Access to these decks will be available again at 7:00am the following days (10/27 & 10/28). Access will still remain available at Deck 1 for permitted vehicles. 

Newark resident and commuter permit holders should plan accordingly. Vehicles remaining in these decks after 10:30 PM will be unable to exit until construction activities are complete.

We encourage all members of the university community to exercise caution near active work zones, follow posted detour signage, and allow additional travel time when navigating the affected areas
