Effective Wednesday, October 2, 2025, additional parking will be available for the Rutgers Newark Commuter East permit holders with the addition of a new parking deck on University Avenue.

New Location:

On October 2, the parking deck located at 261 University Avenue (across the street from Blumenthal Hall, located at the corner of University Ave and Raymond Blvd) will provide an additional 225 spaces.

On November 1, 2025, 261 University Avenue will provide an additional 75 spaces-- bringing the total capacity to 300 spaces.
The new parking deck is approximately a 3-minute walk from Deck 1 and across the street from Blumenthal Hall.
Important Information:

When Decks 1, 2, and 3 reach capacity, students with a valid Commuter East permit will be issued a hardcopy PDF Barcode at the deck entry points.

Upon exiting, students should scan the hardcopy PDF Barcode at the gate to complete their exit (see below for reference).
