Employee Development: Walking the Walk
Our employees are our greatest ambassadors. When our employees are enthusiastic about their careers here at Rutgers, and specifically within IP&O, they tell others and by doing so help enhance Rutgers’ image and Rutgers’ value as a great institution and great employer in New Jersey.
Our division is serious about employee enrichment. While we have always had programs for employee development, in 2017, we formed the myPath Training and Employee Development group. This group continually provides career development services for our employees at all levels so that they may grow from a job to a career at Rutgers. Whether it is one on one coaching or using our Resume Builder for a job interview, preparing and delivering our ESL classes, or facilitating our popular Craft Trainee Program, myPath delivers professional services, enrichment, and growth for our employees.

Orientation
To know Rutgers is to love Rutgers! Our popular in-person orientation sessions provide new hires with information about IP&O and how we contribute to the university mission.
Training for Critical Trades Positions
Our Craft Trainee is designed to develop well-trained, skilled workers to fill critical trade positions within IP&O. The program provides both the necessary education and on-the-job training, as well as progressive employment and promotional opportunities for those desiring careers as electricians, plumbers, HVAC mechanics, and carpenters. In addition, our Boiler Certification program is also designed to fill critical boiler operator positions in our power plants.
English as a Second Language (ESL)
Allows employees to improve their English speaking and writing skills. Different courses are offered throughout the year, and employees need not schedule courses outside of work hours.
Earn Credentials
myPath assists employees who want to earn their CEFP (Certified Educational Facilities Professional by providing the information necessary for enrollment and registration.
