Najia Boumahdi, Sr. Plumber Stmftr/Maintenance Mechanic is congratulated by Jeffery Williams at the luncheon.

Four years of hard work came to a culmination as 2019 Craft trainees celebrated their graduation from the program. Surrounded by their colleagues and their loved ones who helped support them through their journey, graduates Jamar Nelson, Najia Boumahdi, Joseph Decker, and Matthew England accepted a completion certificate and celebrated with a luncheon.

Upon completion of the program, graduates received their journeyman card, allowing them to work in New Jersey in their given trade. “I would advise this program to anyone looking for a trade, looking to change careers, or something to challenge themselves,” said Nelson. “You can start with nothing, work for four years, and become a journeyman by the end.”

Jeffery Williams, right, Associate Director, Facilities Maintenance and Facilitator of the Craft Trainee Program, congratulated Jamar Nelson, Sr. Electrician/Maintenance Mechanic, who attended the luncheon with his family.

For Nelson, the work doesn’t stop here, he wants to keep the momentum going and to keep furthering his credentials.

“I'm still in the study phase; my next goal is to get my full license,” says Nelson, “I’d love to keep opening doors for me and for my family.”

Congratulations to the Craft graduates on their amazing achievement.
