Four Facilities employees applied and were selected for IP&O’s popular Craft Trainee program. The program, administered under the guidance of Jeff Williams, Associate Director, Facilities Maintenance, and Nyree Agbara, IP&O’s Employee Relations Manager, gives employees an opportunity to learn a trade and excel in their careers at Rutgers. Employees must apply for the position, and in addition to working alongside an experienced tradesperson to learn their craft, the candidates also complete courses at local trade schools.
“I wish I could accept everyone into the program; we get a lot of applicants,” said Williams. “It’s a great program and it has really helped our employees develop their careers.” A welcome luncheon was held recently at 33 Knightsbridge Road for the new candidates. Three of the four candidates are from the New Brunswick Campus: Sasha Alvarez, Alex Peralta, and Dwayne Coleman. Camden also has a candidate this year, Melvyn Gulledge. Congratulations and best of luck to all the new craft trainees.
