Rendering of HELIX - New Brunswick

The Health & Life Science Exchange (HELIX NJ) is an innovation district providing industries and universities with the critical ecosystem to research, learn, work, and collaborate. By the end of 2028, HELIX NJ will be a three-building complex with 1.5-million square feet, an investment of approximately $2 billion and more than 4,000 people researching, working, living and learning on four acres across from the New Brunswick train station.

The first 12-story tower (H1), which will be completed in April 2026, will primarily be occupied by Rutgers University, and will be the new home of its Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, as well as a translational research facility equipped with laboratories that will advance the work of 80 Rutgers research teams. H1 will also be home to the New Jersey Innovation Hub which will be made up of pre-built and furnished labs/office space alongside additional key partners such as RWJBarnabas Health, Hackensack Meridian Health, New Jersey Economic Development Authority, Middlesex County and others.

On the ground floor, H-1 will offer a market hall with a variety of food options, a coffee bar, and an upscale restaurant. A conference center will also be found as part of the ground floor to support the students, faculty, researchers, and entrepreneurs with collaborative space to share their next great idea.
