Beginning Monday, November 11, License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology will resume in all parking decks, P1 Norfolk, P2 Bergen, and P3 DOC.
The previous practice of using proximity access cards will be reinstated as your alternate method of entry and exit.
- Ensure that your parking account has an active permit
- Ensure your license plates are accurate and linked to your current permit.
To confirm the status of your account, visit https://go.rutgers.edu/parking
- Login
- Click the vehicle icon under the PERMIT section of your parking account to review the plates linked to your account
- Verify Effective and Expiration dates of your 2024 - 2025
What you will need to do before November 11.
Confirm Your Access Card:
- If you HAVE an access card

Email the following details to dotshelp@rutgers.edu:
- Your full name
- NetID
- Make, Model of vehicle
- License Plate Number
- Access card number (found on the front of the card that starts with 233##### including the 5 digits after the prefix)
- If you were NOT issued an access card:

Check your Vehicle Record & Pay for Citation
Appeals are only accepted within ten business days from the date the citation was issued (no exceptions). The date of the citation is the date when citation was emailed to you. If you have never registered your plate, citations will not be visible until the plate is linked to an active account.

The ParkWhiz mobile app is an optional method you can use to access the decks in the event that your license plate is not identified at the gate. The mobile app is a good option to keep handy on your mobile phone. Follow the instructions below on how to set up your PARKWHIZ mobile app. The mobile app is an optional method and not a requirement to enter and exit the decks.

At the gate, open ParkWhiz app from mobile device. Vehicle should be positioned within arms-length to the kiosk. From the Home tab, select Slide to Open Gate or scan the QR code by placing the app facing the kiosk reader.
